E. Final Advice — Before Starting Vel Poojai
- Complete the checklist at least 1–2 hours before the Poojai and physically verify each item.
- Keep all Abhishekam materials together in one clean, organized area, preferably labelled in sequence.
- Wash and clean the required vessels, cups, plates and Poojai items before use.
- Keep flowers, garlands, Vel alangaram materials and brass flower baskets ready separately.
- Keep Aarathi items together: karpooram, aarathi plate, oothuvathi, samparani, match box and lamp oil/thiri.
- Keep lemons, banana, tender coconut and other offerings ready before the Poojai begins.
- Keep enough water, tissues, plates, spoons and serving containers for devotees/attendees.
- Assign one person to check and hand over Abhishekam items during the Poojai so the host does not need to search for anything.
- Keep a small waste/used-material collection area ready and maintain cleanliness throughout.
- Most importantly, prepare everything calmly and with devotion so the Poojai can start without interruption. 🙏 Muruga Charanam.
